BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. (June 12, 2009) – Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians welcomes Michael Sabom, M.D., to its healthcare team beginning June 15. He joins John Walter Kelley, M.D., in the Blairsville office at 49 Weaver Road, Suite B.

Dr. Sabom earned his medical degree from the University of Texas in Galveston, Tex. He then completed his internship and residency at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida where was also a clinical fellow in cardiology.

Prior to joining Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians, Dr. Sabom practiced with North Atlanta Cardiovascular Associates. He has also been an instructor with Baylor University, Shands Teaching Hospital and an associate professor of medicine with Emory University. Dr. Sabom is a member of the American College of Cardiology.
