AUSTELL, Ga. (Sept. 2, 2009) – Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians at Austell are pleased to welcome Druenell E. Linton, M.D., to their medical team beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. Dr. Linton joins Ketan Desai, M.D., in the Austell office at 1797 Mulkey Road, Suite 101.

Dr. Linton earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., and her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., and a cardiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Linton is also board-certified in internal medicine and a member of the American Medical Association and the Association of Black Cardiologists.

Prior to joining Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians at Austell, Dr. Linton served as a critical care physician with WellStar Windy Hill Hospital and the Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital.  She has training in left and right heart catheterization, echocardiography and will be practicing as an invasive/non-interventional cardiologist.

Dr. Linton accepts most major insurance plans and is available for appointments beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. The office is located at 1797 Mulkey Road, Suite 101 in Austell, Ga., and Dr. Linton’s office hours are 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays.
